Oxytocin, more commonly known as the cuddle hormone, is a neuropeptide produced in the hypothalamus and released by the pituitary gland. It is involved in promoting overall psychological stability, contractions during labor in women, erection, and orgasm. Research on Oxytocin suggests that it may induce relaxation, and cognitive stability, and improve reproductive health. As a neurotransmitter, it has been shown to ease anxiety and stress.
